Laughing dove facts

25 February 2014

www.leopard.tv

This shows an European bee-eater sitting on the branch of a dead tree near the waterhole. Diagonally above the bee-eater there also is a laughing dove Streptopelia senegalensis. The two sexes of laughing dove look alike and this type of dove can be distinguished from the Cape turtle dove in not having a black band behind the neck. Laughing doves are common in South Africa and they have a melodious call.
