Nyala bulls with grey necks

QUESTION:

Why is the necks of the nyalas this grey color?

 

ANSWER:

The typical white chevron stripe over the nose is not visible and the necks are extremely grey, although the vertical white stripes on the flanks, the white band on the backs, and the white spots above the hooves, below the eyes and on the chests identify them as being nyalas.
