Klipspringers and rocks

25 June 2014

QUESTION:

Why do klipspringers always stand on top of rocks?

ANSWER:

The klipspringers use rocks as a safe haven in which to rest or to escape from predators, but they usually forage away from the rocks at night. Their hooves are adapted to allow them to move over rocks.
